The Opportunity We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Data Analytics & Strategic Applications team on a 14-month full-time contract. In this role, you will lead the successful delivery of strategic initiatives across the organization by combining agile and traditional project management approaches to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and drive meaningful business outcomes. Acting as both Project Manager and Scrum Master, you will partner with business units, technology teams, external vendors, and project participants to ensure alignment, transparency, and successful execution. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and adaptable project professional who enjoys guiding teams through complex initiatives while fostering continuous improvement. Position Details * Employment Type: Temporary; Fulltime, expected end date: December 2027 * Workplace Model: In Office * Location: Edmonton, AB. * Working Conditions: Office environment with the ability to work remotely if required. Minimal physical effort including sitting, standing, and bending. Regular use of a computer and frequent interaction with employees and external contacts. * Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $102,326.61 to $153,489.91. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, internal equity, market considerations, and other job-related factors. * Deadline to Apply: Posted Until Filled Position Responsibilities Project Delivery & Planning * Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans, timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution. * Manage project scope, priorities, dependencies, and resources while keeping initiatives aligned with organizational objectives. * Monitor project progress and proactively address issues that may impact timelines or outcomes. Agile Leadership & Team Facilitation * Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. * Facilitate collaboration across project teams and help remove barriers that may affect productivity or delivery. * Promote agile best practices and continuous improvement within project teams. Risk, Change & Governance * Identify, assess, document, and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and monitoring. * Coordinate change management activities to support successful implementation, adoption, and engagement. * Ensure project governance practices are followed and key decisions, risks, and outcomes are appropriately documented. Communication & Relationship Management * Collaborate with business units, project teams, external consultants, contractors, and vendors to achieve project objectives. * Build strong working relationships and facilitate effective communication across project participants. * Provide transparent updates on project status, achievements, risks, and challenges to leaders and project teams. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement * Track and report on project key performance indicators and delivery outcomes. * Evaluate project performance and identify opportunities to improve processes, effectiveness, and delivery practices. * Capture lessons learned and incorporate insights into future initiatives to support ongoing improvement. What You Bring to the Table Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field. * Minimum 5 years of project management experience, including at least 3 years leading agile initiatives within a technology-driven environment. * Demonstrated expertise in both traditional (waterfall) and agile project delivery methodologies. * Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms. * Strong ability to manage project scope, timelines, risks, resources, and communications across multiple groups. * Strong knowledge of agile principles, Scrum practices, project planning, risk management, change control, and project governance. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong organizational and prioritization abilities. * Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Ability to build collaborative relationships and effectively coordinate cross-functional project teams. Preferred Qualifications * Project management and agile certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM). * Previous experience in Financial Services or a related industry.
