Full-Time | Residential Renovations & Construction About Mallard Homes Mallard Homes is a residential renovation and construction company expanding its operations into Calgary. We are looking for an experienced construction professional who understands residential renovations from the ground up and can take ownership of projects in the field. This is not a desk-only project management position. We are looking for someone who can walk onto a renovation site, understand what needs to happen next, coordinate trades, identify problems before they become expensive, maintain quality standards, and step in hands-on when required. The right person will play an important role in building our Calgary operations alongside the company's leadership team. The Role As our Senior Renovation Project Manager / Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of residential renovation projects from demolition through final deficiencies and handover. You will act as the primary field leader—coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, monitoring workmanship, planning upcoming work, communicating site requirements, and ensuring projects continue moving efficiently. We need someone who takes ownership. If a trade doesn't show up, you reorganize the day. If something has been built incorrectly, you identify it before it becomes a larger problem. If materials are required next week, you don't wait until next week to raise the issue. And when smaller hands-on items need to be completed to keep a project moving, you're comfortable doing them. Key Responsibilities * Manage residential renovation projects on site from demolition through completion * Develop and maintain project schedules and sequencing * Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades * Conduct regular quality-control inspections * Identify construction issues and develop practical solutions * Coordinate material requirements, deliveries and site logistics * Track project progress against scope, schedule and budget * Review drawings, scopes of work and specifications before and during construction * Maintain organized, clean and professional job sites * Manage deficiencies and ensure projects are properly completed before handover * Provide regular project updates to company leadership * Communicate professionally with homeowners when required * Help build and maintain a reliable Calgary subcontractor and supplier network * Support estimating and constructability reviews for upcoming projects * Perform or assist with smaller hands-on construction tasks when appropriate What We're Looking For We are looking for someone with strong residential renovation experience, not simply general project-management experience. You should have practical knowledge of multiple areas of residential construction, including: * Framing and carpentry * Drywall and finishing * Flooring * Trim, doors and baseboards * Kitchen and bathroom renovations * Cabinetry and millwork installation * Basic plumbing and electrical coordination * Painting and finishing * Exterior renovation work * Demolition and site preparation You do not need to personally perform every trade, but you should understand the work well enough to evaluate quality, coordinate sequencing and recognize when something isn't being done correctly. Ideal Candidate You may be a strong fit if you: * Have 10+ years of residential construction or renovation experience * Have previously worked as a renovation project manager, site supervisor, construction manager, lead carpenter or experienced general contractor * Have significant hands-on renovation knowledge * Are comfortable managing multiple trades and personalities * Can independently prioritize work on a busy construction site * Understand the importance of schedules and client commitments * Take pride in workmanship and finishing details * Are organized, dependable and accountable * Communicate problems early rather than waiting for them to escalate * Can work collaboratively with company leadership while taking ownership of field operations * Are interested in helping build a growing Calgary operation rather than simply managing individual jobs Requirements * Valid Alberta driver's licence and clean driving record * Ability to travel between project sites throughout Calgary and surrounding areas * Strong understanding of residential construction practices * Ability to read construction drawings and scopes of work * Comfortable using smartphones, email, project schedules and basic digital documentation * Professional communication skills * References from previous construction employers, clients or projects Compensation Competitive compensation based on experience and capabilities. The structure may include salary/hourly compensation and performance incentives based on project execution, quality, schedule performance and company growth. Why Join Mallard Homes? This is an opportunity for an experienced construction professional to become an important part of Mallard Homes' Calgary expansion. We are looking for someone who wants ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to help build a strong operation—not simply clock in and complete assigned tasks. For the right person, there will be significant opportunity to grow in responsibility as our Calgary project portfolio expands. How to Apply Please submit your résumé along with a short note describing: * Your residential renovation experience * The types and approximate values of projects you have managed * Your hands-on construction background * The trades you are most knowledgeable in * Whether you currently have relationships with reliable Calgary subcontractors or suppliers Photos or a portfolio of completed renovation projects are welcome. Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
