Job Overview The Human Resources Representative provides dedicated HR support to the Maskekosihk Recovery Community while working out of the Enoch Cree Nation Human Resources Department. This role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy administration, HR documentation, and compliance with Nation and MRC HR practices. The HR Representative ensures HR processes are carried out in a professional, confidential, culturally grounded, and trauma-informed manner that supports staff, leadership, and the therapeutic community environment. The HR Representative reports to the Executive Director of the MRC, with functional direction from Enoch’s Human Resource Manager. Responsibilities · Support recruitment processes for MRC positions including job postings, screening, interview coordination, and onboarding. · Respond to internal and external HR inquiries in a timely and professional manner. · Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and Nation/MRC HR policies. · Advise leadership on changes to employment legislation, HR best practices, and policy updates. · Complete monthly HR reports accurately and within required timelines. · Support employee wellness, workplace safety, and staff development initiatives. · Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks. · Act as a resource to MRC managers regarding policy interpretation, employee relations, and HR processes. · Support performance management processes in collaboration with MRC leadership and ECN HR. · Prepare letters, memos, documentation, and maintain HR filing systems (manual and electronic). · Maintain HRIS and web-based systems for MRC employee records. · Conduct onboarding follow-ups and exit interviews for MRC staff. · Track mandatory training, certifications, and compliance requirements. · Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard employee information. · Perform related clerical, administrative, and HR support duties as required. · Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Skills · Human Resources or related degree preferred. · 3–5 years of experience in a Human Resources setting. · Strong understanding of Alberta Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation. · Experience with HRIS systems, employee documentation, and HR workflows. · Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills. · Ability to analyze and present information clearly to staff and leadership. · Strong organizational skills and ability to manage filing systems and documentation. · Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work in high-pressure situations. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR-related software. · Experience working in Indigenous communities or culturally grounded environments is an asset.
